We had a wonderful opportunity yesterday to attend Time Out For Women and Girls. It's not often, if ever that our Young Women get to enjoy speakers or musicians from outside of our Stake. We had a great day listening to John Bytheway, Carmen Rasmusen, Abe Mills, John Hilton, Jenny Frogley, Laurel Christensen and Ardeth Kapp. They all had us laughing, crying, dancing and just plain having fun!!! The highlight of my day was to listen to Ardeth Kapp speak. She was the General Young Women's President when I was a Young Woman many, many years ago. She was the one who changed the YW program and added the values and the Young Women's Theme. She asked for anyone in the room to raise their hand if they remembered the worldwide balloon release that took place on October 11, 1986? I raised my hand and remembered that day like it was yesterday. All Young Women around the world wrote their testimonies and attached them to helium balloons and released them at sunrise that morning. It was a wonderful day in 1986 and even a better day in 2008, 22 years later being able to be with my 3 daughters to enjoy a day full of the spirit.
